MEET CARLY

Waves of Change Coalition, Founder

Hi, I’m Carly

Founder, Waves of Change Coalition

VB native, licensed clinical social worker, certified sound healer, and the founder of Waves of Change Coalition.

I created this space because I needed it first. A place where healing isn't limited to traditional therapy. Where you don't have to talk yourself into wellness or think your way through trauma.

A place to say curse words, release sound and actually feel better.

Let’s get this part out of the way,

I’m not your average therapist

Social Work Chose me.

I look at people as human beings shaped by the systems around them. Not as labels, not as diagnoses, and never as the worst thing that's happened to them.

If you need to scream into the void, you know I'm your girl.

If you want to give your nervous system, your mind, your soul a little break, I’m here with sound for that too.

I work with trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and chronic illness, and I bring everything I've got to the women carrying things they were never supposed to carry alone.

You don't have to perform wellness in here. You just have to come as you are.

A License to Practice Therapy

I've been a therapist for 13 years.

As a therapist, I'm trauma-informed, which means I will never ask you to relive something to prove it happened, and I will never rush you through a feeling because it's inconvenient. We move at the pace your nervous system can actually hold.

What I believe

You are not broken. You've simply been taught to shrink, perform, and push through.

There is another way to live, and most of the people I work with already know it they just haven't been given a place to practice it yet. That's what this is.

MY APPROACH TO SOUND HEALING

Talk therapy can only reach so far. Trauma lives in the body, and sometimes the body needs a way in that doesn't involve words.

That's where sound comes in.

But with my background in Social Work, I offer variations of blended and integrative sessions: a way to regulate a nervous system that's been on high alert for years, to soften what's been bracing, and to give the body permission to do what it already knows how to do.

Energy Work

I'm astrology-loving, tarot-reading, and crystal-collecting

I bring in energy work and a touch of cosmic medicine when it serves the session (yes, I'm astrology-loving, tarot-reading, and crystal-collecting) that's part of the package).

You don't have to know how to talk about it, for it to work. It’s something you feel.

Why a Coalition?

Why a Coalition?

I didn't want to build a private practice. I wanted to build a coalition.

Therapy is real. Sound is real. But neither stand a chance, without community. The only thing that thrives in isolation is trauma, depression, anxiety, fear, and loss.
