NEW YEAR, NEW YOU? EMBRACING DISCIPLINE IN 2025

As the calendar turns to a new year, it’s natural to feel a mix of excitement and trepidation. The clean slate of January is both an invitation and a challenge: What will we make of this fresh start? For me, this year is all about discipline. It’s my word of the year, my intention, and my personal guide. This time of year, we see so much, "new year, new me" rhetoric. I want to first say, there is NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU, and I believe anytime is a good time to restart. However, if you are in the market for doing things a bit differently this new year, I invite you to embrace my word of the year: discipline.

Discipline isn’t just about rigid schedules or endless to-do lists; it’s about showing up for myself and others with purpose, commitment, and integrity. It’s about pushing beyond the boundaries of comfort to create real, lasting change—and I’m inviting you to join me.

Astrological Guidance for 2025

I have never felt this optimistic going into a year, and I am STOKED. The stars are aligning in fascinating ways this year, and their energy offers unique opportunities for growth and transformation. As a Capricorn rising with an Aquarius sun and Aries moon, the planetary movements in 2025 are particularly significant. Saturn, is my chart ruler as a Capricorn rising, and it continues its transit through Pisces, urging me to balance discipline with intuition and creativity. This transit reminds me to trust my inner wisdom while maintaining structure in daily life.

This year I am calling in the discipline to harness both the steady and the dynamic aspects of my chart, blending my visionary Aquarius sun with the boldness of Aries and the practicality of Capricorn.

Stepping Out of the Comfort Zone

Growth rarely happens in the safety of the familiar. Whether it’s trying a new fitness routine, starting therapy, or finally saying yes to that hobby you’ve been curious about, the moments that scare us a little often hold the most potential for transformation. For me, this year is about stepping into new opportunities with courage, even when it feels uncomfortable. It’s about embracing the messy, imperfect process of being an active participant in my own health and wellness journey. I hope you’ll take that leap too. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it to show up for yourself.

Discipline as a Form of Self-Care

Discipline often gets a bad rap as being rigid or punishing, but I see it differently. True discipline is an act of self love. It’s saying, “I’m worth the effort.” It’s creating space for what truly matters and saying no to what doesn’t serve us. Whether it’s carving out time for mindfulness, setting boundaries, or sticking to a consistent self-care routine, discipline helps us prioritize our well-being and build resilience for the challenges ahead.

Sound Healing as a Tool for Transformation

As many of you know, I integrate sound healing into my work because I’ve seen its incredible impact on mental, emotional, and physical health. Sound healing isn’t just relaxing (though it certainly is that!)—it’s also a powerful way to reset the nervous system, cultivate focus, and create space for inner healing. This year, I’m committing to bringing even more of this practice into my own life and into the work I do with Waves of Change Coalition.

If you’ve never experienced sound healing, now is the perfect time to try. Whether you join one of our sessions or explore it on your own (which, SURPRISE you probably do daily...hint: listening to your favorite songs), the gentle vibrations of sound can help you reconnect with your intentions, release stress, and step into your best self. It’s a beautiful way to stay grounded and disciplined in your wellness journey.
